So a couple days ago I was coming back from the store and had the good old case of death wobble, not bump steer, death wobble, my cds went everywhere and it didnt stop til I came to almost a complete stop, well drove home VERY slowly and pulled into the driveway.

I got out and checked the steering and came to find out that the reason why is because the track is bent, dont know when it happened but it happened and that could also be why my tires up front look like something that came off of a prerunner, I forget whether that caster or camber but yeah, thought it would be something else but its that so my solution is going to be the Rusty's steering upgrade for the ZJs.

Just figured I would tell that little story. Now I have to go pull the credit card out and order me up some Rusty's stuff.

Do you mean track bar or drag link?

Sorry, I'm a little confused by the word track and then you planning to purchase a steering system…

Also, Camber (tire tipped in or out at the top) and caster (angle between upper and lower balljoint) are only adjustable with the balljoints, bent steering affects toe in/out (the tires pointing in or our in realtion to each other).

Have you considered DOM, weld in bungs and spherical rod ends?

Bore out the knuckles and pitman arm to, I think, 5/8" and then get some weld in bungs, DOM and hiem joints and make some sweet, sweet bomb proof steering.

There is a NAXJA thread about it here

It ends up looking like this:

I even made the steering for one of the guys in that thread who has it already, see if you can guess who…

If you don't have the means or trust your welding I would be happy to put one together for you as long as you bring me the parts.  Install is easy and I may have a 5/8 twist drill you can borrow.

With the drag link longer then the track bar you may see some bump steer but as long as you keep them in the same plane it is minimal.

Deeds not words.

My tie rod is bent, pretty bad I might add. It is all stock steering unde there so that may be the issue as well. I would love to by one but honestly I have had nothing but good things come from Rusty's so that is the direction that I am going to go. I appreciate the post you put up DUG about building me up some steering but I'm just going to roll the Rusty's way. If you are any good at a roll cage those are in the future for both the XJ and ZJ if you wouldnt mind giving me a hand with one of those projects on the good old Jeep list.

Here is the link to the Rusty's steering upgrade. I would go with Kevin's offroad but thats a little pricey.

Oh and the reason why it is bent is because of Cliff's on Halloween, it took a pretty hard hit when going into the creek.
