Just wanted to post up and say hello to some old and hopefully new friends. I'm Mike. I was part of the original club back in grand rapids, MI. I used to have a 70 ford bronco, then had a full size chevy pick-up and now have moved onto Land Rovers.
here is my current rig,

Â
its a 91 Great Divide Edition – Range Rover (1 of only 400). I swapped in low milage 3.9 liter all aluminum V8 in it. converted to a 24 spline axels, 2" Old Man Emu lift and shocks, 31" BFG ATs, ARB winch bumper, Hella lights, and custom built the roof rack. Â
I plan to add a locker in the rear and build a 4.6L motor for it yet, but have to attend to a couple rust issues first. The truck is kinda a daily driver so no plans on getting too crazy with it.
I make roof racks and am going to start building bumpers soon also. I also have everything to build roll cages as well so, if any one is looking for some Fab work done let me know. Â
Â
I usually just run around on the dunes (and have a 2wd range rover dune truck in the works) but I hope to make it down for some trail rides this summer.
Â
anyways, just wanted to say Hello.

NAS (North American Stock)Â range rovers never came with carb set ups. It is possible to convert back with a regular intake off of an older one but all of them are EFI otherwise.
I have spare set of radius arm that I plan on making a long arm kit out of at some point. Also, I'd have to find some long travel shocks and heim joint all the link to really benefit from dislocation cones. I haven't done anything other than put lift spring and longer shocks in so far. No plans to go bigger or better either. Its only going to be a mild trail rig seeing that I daily drive it too.

you should not need a long arm kit you will beafit more from a pollybush kit and some cranked/ caster corection radus arms from some where like QT services   im no good with he nas specks there a lil difrant that the uk modeds there where two types of carbes that where fited there was the sanderd carbs fitted to erly modeles them there where the SU's wich u can hill clime with and you shuouldnt run out of fuel like other carbs will  then they moved to EFI im not shore what year that was fazed inÂ
tbh thers no need to go larger spend some money on the radius arms and that baby will flex you should look for pics of scourpion raceings dislocating suspention the copany did no make it therw the rough times but there a still lots of pics of how much flex you can get out off a defender and ther suspention is almost identical so you sould be abule to get that out of a rangie
Â
i wanted to build my old 89Â rangie up but i never got chance before i sold it
and i dont wona be a gramer natzi but just so you know NAS sould stand for north american specification

haha,, stock,… spec. same difference.
Â
poly bushing are the worst thing you can do for flex. They are twice as hard as a rubber bushing and when you get sand and mud in them they get eaten apart real quick. I had some poly bushing in my old bronco and they were junk with in a couple years. Some people have success with them, I didn't like them at all.Â
I was going to caster correct the radius arms as i built them and figured, might as well build them a little long while I was at it (probably only a few inches, nothing dramatic). and this is considering if I even ever get arond to actually going it.
There are several really nice kits made locally for dislocation. Rovertym Engineering makes a lot of really nice stuff for land rovers (mainly RRCs and disco's)
Â
haha, and its not "natzi", it's "Nazi"

This has to be the funniest post I have ever seen on this site.
You ended a post which uses not a single punctuation mark or capital letter and is riddled with misspelling by correcting his grammar in a sentence that has no punctuation and lacks proper capitalization and has the word 'grammar' misspelled!
'I don't want to be a grammar Nazi, but just so you know NAS should stand for North American specification.'
People tend to listen to you more when you at least come close on these things…

MIKE! What is up Z?! How have you been? Where are you living now in MI. Glad you found us once again. I hope you like where we have taken the club. I look forward to seeing how that Rover does at the dunes in June. YOU BETTER BE THERE!

Doing well, Tim. Hope things are well for you too. I've jumped around to a couple states but I'm living up in Newaygo area now (only like an hour from the dunes). It good to see a group of guys with interest we couldn't get around here. Super glad to see it went somewhere and is doing well. I'm trying to put together a 2wd rover dune truck so depending on when you go, hopefully I'll have it built by then. Other wise I'll have this rover out there and maybe my dad will pull the bronco out and come too. I'll be there either way. But you should make it in late July or August though. Camping would be better and warmer…. and It'll give me some more time to get that truck together.
