Dont mean to come off strong but we need to support the few legal places we have and the image of our club is affected by people posting about illegal wheeling. OUR SPORT/HOBBY FUTURE DEPENDS ON MAINTAINING THIS IMAGE. Thanks. Hope to see ya at newbee run get started by getting min saftey requirments . proper strap f and r recovery points and a cb and

Welcome to the Forum!! Thanks for posting. How did you hear about us?
Sounds like you are a newb. You'll want to take your Jeep wheeling to know exactly how you want to mod it (which lift, tires, bumper, etc.) Your factory Jeep will be able to handle some of the easier trails, but not until you get a few things installed. FIrst to wheel with us you are going to want and get front and rear recovery points. A tow strap with out metal hooks is a must. You can find 20,000 LB rated tow straps at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Farm & Fleet, etc. Just make sure it has nylon straps. Metal Hooks really hurt when you get hit by one!
Down the road you will want to get a CB. Best way to comunicate on the trails. Feel free to post up if you have any questions or need help installing recovery points Check this forum regularly. We will be having our kick off event in March.
Thanks again for posting! Looking forward to wheeling with you!!

Welcome to the forum sir. Another Cherokee, fantasic :) Anyways, I would suggest doing as much research as you can not only on your vehicle but off roading in general. Look at websites like Cherokeeforum.com, NAXJA, Jeepforum, just to name a few. DDO usually rolls into Cliff's Insane Terrain because it is the closet park to pretty much everyone. Also those websites can give you ideas on building your Cherokee into a great daily driver/ weekend warrior. I believe we are going to have a run to Cliff's probably in March if not earlier and I would highly recommend getting yourself a CB radio/antenna set-up, its just an easier way to get a hold of people on the trails and it is also one of our club's guidelines to have. We are having a season kick off in March for all the members and hopefully you can make it out there. If you got any pictures of it, post em up, again welcome to the forum.

I would highly recommend Rusty's, pretty much everyone in the club like Rusty's and the products, both my Jeeps, the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee have Rusty's products on them and never had a problem with them. I would recommend staying away from Rough Country you basically pay for just some of the parts and not the whole lift. I know there are a few members that do have Rough Country and they like them so I guess its just personal choice. If you need help installing the lift let us know, I know there are a few people, including myself that wouldnt mind giving you a hand.

We havent worked anything out with Rusty's yet I dont think but I could be wrong, I know John and I believe Tim has spoken with them. I know I emailed him about a club discount but I never heard back from him. We could work on that for the 2010 season though.

I have spoken to Rusty himself a few times last year. Really nice guy, but unfortunatley he is unable to offer us a Club Discount. From what it sounds like he doesn't really offer discounts to any clubs. I guess it's a good thing that he's not discriminating. LOL
I usually type in the "Comment Section" whenever ordering from Rusty's Website, that I was reffered by Down & Dirty Offroad Club in Chicago IL. I figured if Rusty started to notice enough DDO Members ordering from him that he will consider working some sort of discount or coupon deal. I reccomend everyone doing the same. Just a thought…

Yea i think i will for sure go with rusty i checked them out this morning and it looks like i will be going with them. I will def need help lifting it because i have no experience with it. im sure i could figure it out but i would rather have someone there that knows what they are doing and point me in the right direction. so with that said i will keep everyone posted on when i get it. I think that would be sweet if we could get them to do something like that i think it would bring alot more people to this sight as well.

Blackcountry,
Good to here you are going with Rusty's, you wont be disappointed and I noticed you lived in Rockford, I live in Genoa, which isnt too far from you, so keep me up to date on when you get everything from Rusty's and I'll come over and give you a hand with it.

Yeah I know where thats at, we have been called out there once or twice. As for the bigblu's Cherokee, the whole trade thing is a possibility but honestly I think you would enjoy building your rig up and learning as much as you can about it. Not to take anything away from bigblu cuz I know he needs something for college but I think he can understand where I am coming from on it. I enjoy building up my Jeeps because its a part of you going into everything but thats totally your call on the trade thing.
