so i was looking threw the pic of 4/25/09 which was a day i was out at the cliff it was the day my buddy phil rolled his 92 blue xj it has stars on the front doors i was the one of the guys rolling it back over. i had more pics off us rolling the jeep back over

Werent some of those guys from that windy city offroad club, not to be mean or anything but I think Cliff's was the first time that they had ever done legal offroading. Please make sure that the pictures you post are of legal offroad, Down and Dirty does not participate in illegal offroading but if you have any other pictures that you would like to post feel free. I dont want to upset you but DDO does follow the off roading guidelines of Tread Lightly. Again welcome to the forum though, hope to see you at the meet and greet and out on the trails with us.

Secret doesnt mean illegal. Secret as in, your private property where offroading is ok. But, it doesnt say that anymore.

yes windy was out there that guy that rolled is in windy city and that wasnt there first time out to a "legal spot" most of them wheel year round all over. so in your view what makes a place a "legal spot" having to pay to wheel? i have a spot i goto that the owner bought to try to build n he cant. so it sits and people dump there when we go there we clean the area up we have had cops come there they told us they are happy when they see us drive by them cause since we found the place "the trouble causer" dont head back there to dump stolen cars and setting them on fire. i have been wheeling for over 12 years. cliffs hasnt been around that long and at one point badlands was almost all dirt bikes and quads. with in the last 8 years or so is when everyone started to open pay to wheel places. it is a phase whats gonna happen when people start fighting to close down places like the cliffs. like great lake dragway "the newer poeple" in that area are trying to close it they moved in the area knowing it is there now they want to close it

I wasnt trying to attack anyone but I know what Windy City is all about and I know the area you are talking about with the owner that wanted to build on it and couldnt and all that stuff. I grew up in Des Plaines and if you dont remember who I am, I'm the guy that used to have the big black Dodge Ram that rick now has. I'm not trying to attack anyone but I just dont want people to start showing pictures of themselves wheeling in a spot that is illegal. Sorry if this is off topic but I am trying to make a point. I have heard good and bad things about windy city but its whatever, I'm part of DDO and thats all that matters to me. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails. Oh and just for the record I have been wheeling for about 15 yrs.

Bigtrim, your question about what makes a spot legal seemed to have gone unanswered.
Quite simply, the only way to wheel legally is to have expessed written permission of the owner of the land. Regardless if cops do not pester you for it, it is viewed in the eyes of the law as Reckless Driving.
