Well after about a year or so on having the ZJ, I am going to make a quick build thread about it. I picked this 98, 4.0L ZJ up with 90,000 miles on it, yes a 98 with 90,000 miles on it. The guys mother drove it to the grocery store and church and that was it. On it right now is a 3.5 inch Rubicon lift w/1 inch spacers, snorkel, bushwacker flares, throttle body spacer, 31 inch ProComp Mts, Hanson front bumper with a tabor winch, hd steering and rusty's control arms and shocks, yakima roof rack. Thats pretty much it, probably forgot something but dont remember, here are a few pictures. The ZJ will be the new tree ninja hunter

Ordered a drop pitman arm for the Over The Knuckle steering I will be ordering soon. The Pitman arm should be in tomorrow. Then I will order the OTK steering from Iron Rock Offroad along with their LA upgrade. After that I will be ordering, a new header, new rear bumper w/tire swing from CSL Offroad and and few other goodies.
Planning on upgrading the rear axle shaft seeing how it is a Dana 35. Yeah I know the weak rear axle but with proper shafts in there and the stock ones as extras I should be pretty good. Those will be Superior rear axle shaft ordered from 4x4GroupBuy.com.
Hopefully I will be able to finish all this stuff by the Cliff's Run in March. If I dont, I know the Project StarScream will have new tires and a 3 inch lift. I guess I will just come to Cliff's in that. No I wont be offroading it, I may need to ride shot gun with someone

I don't understand why it's not trail worthy? From ths pics it looks like it's ready for some fun.

Dont get me wrong, it is trail worthy. I wheeled it at 2 yrs ago at our first Halloween run at Cliff's and did very well but there were many things I wanted to change on it.
Tony, the shafts in the 35 worry me. They are weak and for a axle to be put on a vehicle that is heavier then a Cherokee, worries me even more. I have changed the diff fluid when I installed the SOLID diff covers and there wasnt a lot of metal flakes, so I still know they are good but just want to change the shafts for now. After all is said and done, I will probably find either a Dana 44 or a Ford 8.8 and swap it into the rear but until then, I will be swapping shafts.
It will hopefully be ready for the Cliff's but if not, like I said in my last build thread (Project StarScream), I will bring that to the Cliff's and ride with someone. I cant justify wheeling the niner.

So if the shafts don't come in your not going to wheel it? I'm confused….. why not wheel it, and if the shafts break you have replacements when you get home. As long as that D35 is open you can push that thing pretty far before if fails, and if you do have a traction device just wheel…. ahhh…. sensibly?
Bring something to the trail, I haven't seen you drive in a long time.

Lol, its not only the shafts that need to be done, I have a list of things that need to be done before I wheel this yr. I am hoping to get everything done by the end of March. I will be at the meet and greet and at the Cliff's run in March but until I finish up the trail rig, negative sir. Dont worry Project D&D will be finished soon.

Well figured I would update my build thread. Here is a list of things that I still need to do to Project Down & Dirty before the Badlands run in June.
*Iron Rock Long Arm upgrade (front)
*ball joints
*Flowdaddy Header
*Rusty's gas tank skid
*Rear Iron Rock sway bar connects
*Driver's side Bushwacker Fender Flare
*Spartan Locker
*Yukon Dana 35 Axle Shafts
*Finish up exhaust
*alignment
Once everything on the list is done, Project D&D will be able to join the club on the trails. I smell another Evans' build day
