So, I'm thinking about looking into a rear bumper with a tire carrier on it for my Jeep.
Anyone have any recommendations?

I have a bumper and tire carrier from groundpounder fab, off jeepforum it's really nice!
I can dig up some pics for you and post them, in a day or so.

I also have a ground pounder fab bumper – Doug hooked me up with Bezrk from jeep forum. It is a HEAVY DUTY set up that is top quality and a direct bolt up. I'm very impressed with the craftsmanship, and will deal with GPF again…

He doesn't have a website, but you can google ground pounder fab and come up with lots of hits.
Here are a couple shots of it.

I will probably be at the next Muddy Mondays at the Kilt so you can check it out in person.

Ok, I found GPF's ebay page, but no bumpers there. :(
I'll have to try emailing Bezrk and check some prices. I've seen some of the front bumpers he makes also. Ugh, this is gonna get expensive. :)

He doesn't sell them on ebay at least not that I have ever seen. He is a super freindly guy and great to work with.
There may be a lead time since he moves quite a few bumpers and I think it's just him and his son putting these together.
I paid $704 shipped with frame tie-ins, and high-lift mount.
His email if you don't have it is:

Here is a picture of my GPF bumper with High lift mount – other than the finish it is identical to Doug's. Bezrk charged me $710 shipped to my door. That included: Bumper w/2in receiver, tire swing, frame tie in brackets, high lift mount, bearings & seal for pivot point, and grade 8 bolts for mounting. The bumper is shipped naked so you will have to paint it. I had mine Line X'd for another $180. Typically you will spend around 7 hundo for a aftermarket bumper and swing – the difference here is GPF is twice the quality. The bumper alone weighed in at around 100lbs. It is made of 1/4 thick steel, fully boxed, and double welded on the hitch and tow points. Bezrk is a ship builder by trade so he knows his way around a welder. This bumper compared to my front winch bumper which is a Rugged Ridge XHD is night and day. I too should be at this upcoming Muddy Monday at the Kilt. If your there you can see for yourself
.
