This is stupid, but I'm bored and courious what you guys think.  

I'm selling my trusted 1999 F-150 after eight years and 190,000 miles of service.  Idealy, I would like to replace it with a Ford ecoboost but I'm not that rich…….  yet.Laugh 

What do you guys think would make a great tow rig?

I only drive it on the weekends because I have a company truck that I drive during the week. (run errands with it too)  I'm a little scared of diesel trucks because of the maintainance and when something brakes on a diesel, it's usually pretty expensive.  Not to mention the high start up cost.  I like the idea of the chevy 2500 big blocks 8.1L and 6.0L, but I'm a Ford guy at heart.

It has to be an 2005 or newer and less then 50,000 miles 

NO RAM TRUCKS!!!!!!  I'm just not a Dodge guy.  I almost died in one, and I don't feel comfortable in them.

I'm a GM guy myself.  I've had several 6.0's in anything from a Yukon Denali to several 2500's.  They'll pull a house of it's foundation however gas mileage sucks!!! My current tow rig has 208k and runs/pulls like a champ.   The 6.0's (and GM's in general) have their quirks and issues just like any other manufacturer.  

I guess what I'm saying is my vote is for a GM with a 6.0 all the way!! Woooot…. Cool
