Was searching cherokeeforum.com and found this. I think this is what I might go with for a rear tire carrier, totally cheaper then buying a full rear bumper set up. The price isnt that bad either.

Seems an unthrilling mod to me and a lot of work and material to get what is basically a aftermarket bumper with a tire carrier minus the aftermarket bumper…

Their Backbone product also looks to be a knock off of the old Tomken tow plate with a winch mount added to the front of it…

For the cost I would expect better finsh welding then shown in their pics…

that kit is kinda cool, but what would be primo, if it had a built in hitch to it. But im not sure how I feel about loosing that much of the back window visibility… I get kinda fickle with those types of things

Well since I am tired of the 33x10.50x15 Trxus Mts sitting on top of the roof rack, I am planning on ordering this product this week along with my Kevin's Offroad rear bumper w/tire swing for the ZJ. I was planning on ordering a rear bumper for the XJ through JCR but I'm now planning on going a different route with the XJ. I think its pretty sweet.

I always liked JCR, good to see they are still around.

Interesting they no longer reference their full name on the web site…

I'm going with the KOR tube bumper, have always been a big fan of the whole tube bumer thing and KOR's rear tube bumper offers great protection for the ZJ. And sure Brett, when I get the bumper you can take some measurements off of it, why you think about doing something like that on your ZJ, I though you already had a rear bumper on yours?

Brett,

Yeah an extra hand is always nice, I dont know how heavy the thing is but I will probably need some help, I also have to readjust the Hanson front bumper since its still all sideways from the Cliff's, that place has too many trees, lol.

Is the 4wheel conversion going to be done by the first trip to Cliff's? Let me know if you need any help with that as well.

Why not just get whatever and re-gear?  Great time to put in a lunch-box, or even full carrier, locker?  Of find a 4.10 front and re-gear the rear and lock it up?

You can keep the LSD, just change the gears yourself.

It's easy and anyone with a decent set of tools can do it with the purchase of a $33 dial indicator/caliper kit, a couple hours of research and some patience.

Stop making stuff hard, just do it.

Lower gears aren't going to snap any axle shafts. R&P's aren't even going to affect your crawl ratio too much. Creepy crawly gears come from the trans and tcase.

You have 3.55's and you want to upgrade to what ratio?
