This weekend my wife and i decided to redo the interior. Since our Dash was an ugly grey color we decided to add some bright colors to our Jeep.

Took off the whole dash board cleaned it and repainted it. We also painted the plastic part of the door. (Didn't have time to install them yet.)

Installed harnesses and new seat covers. The stock rainbow seats are not the most beautiful ones.

Took out the handel and covered it with black lether

We took out both front seats and cleaned the floor. We used Truck Bed liner paint to give the floor a nice new black color and a texture. This paint is great beacuse it sticks on any metal surface and has a thick layer that protects agains mud, salt, and all kinds of things. It's also very hard to scratch and its very rough. We no longer have any carpet in our Jeep.Cool

That looks great! How much did the seat harness run you, I think I want to put some in the Cherokee after I install the Rusty's roll bar that I havent installed yet.

I paid $45 in pepboys for one. So two of them ran me about $100 even. For the price they are great. I've seen harnesses run about $250 a piece, unless you got a race track sport car, then pep boys ones will do just fine.

That's awesome. A lot of people have complained about the tan interior in Jeeps and I think that it turned out nice. I can't remember the exterior color of your Jeep? Love the leather too, did you make it?

Where are the shoulder straps of your harness attached to?

Too low, or too high, of a mounting position can result in serious injury to your shoulders or severe spine compression injuries in the event of a collision or roll over.

I suggest a quick search of the web for the SCCA or other sanctioning bodies rules and mountign guidelines.

Nice Job!  Interesting colors you choose for the interior.  The leather handle looks like it turned out pretty well.  I have been wanting to paint my floors w bedliner and install train plugs.  You never know what could happen on the trails and if you start to take on water its a nice feature to just pull out a plug to drain.

All in all great work!! :-)

P.S. NotoriousDUg brings up a good point.  Where did you mount your sholulder harnesses too?

I really hope that harness isn't really attached the way it's shown in the picture. Try doing a search like Dug said and do some reading about how a harness is supposed to be installed. Very bad things can happen if you do it wrong. You're much safer with your factory belts.

as much as i dont wont to sound like two people above me i will try and help not just say you shouldnt do that you need a bar that runs across the b piller at  sholder hight  or attache them to the floor  around where the back seats are ,  they should be at a slighltly  sloped down angle i canot remeber exatly what this is so you will have to reffer to your installsation guide

the way you have them set up in a roll over you will acherly just slide out of them

and truth i woud never tell someone that you better off with factory bets    they just need a llittle bit off seting up thats all
harneses saved me from mangleing my head in the steering wheel before like i would of done with a standerd 3 pt so………..

i think its 5 degrees below the horesontal line and a max of 35 above but id check first

Unless they are run over a bar near shoulder height on their way to meet floor for mounting they are going to cause a spinal compression injury.  Unless the seat is specifically designed to have a harness run through it a seat is not a suitable mount; many sanctioning bodies do nto allow any seat to be part of the mouting system.

I think Truth was trying to say a factory belt is better then a improperly installed 4 or 5 point.

What I meant was, he'd be safer in factory belts, than those harnesses installed the way they are now. And if I was to buy a harness price wouldn't be a factor. Only because you get what you pay for, and my little girl rides with me sometimes.

They do need a little setting up. The vehicle is going to need some cage work before he an do that. A harness can be very safe if installed correctly, and if not they can do much more harm than good.
