Never been to the Cliff's in Marseilles before and I'll be purchasing a flag from them. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in my TJ's stock rear bumper to mount it but have no idea how big it needs to be. I have a flag from the Dunes but its about 983 feet tall. I'd prefer to leave this one at home.!!
Any idea if the mounts from the Cliff's flags are the same size as the Dunes flag poles???????
Thanks for the help as always!!!!

The dunes flags will make it about 10 ft at the Cliff's, the flags there are much shorter.
I don't remember the bolt size on the flags(maybe 1/2") but you can always just attach it with some wire tires if you don't want to drill holes.
You could always use a section of the dune flag if it is a two piece.
I just attach a flag to my CB Antenna, they are really useless at the Cliff's IMO.

Exactly why I want to leave that thing at home! It's ridiculously tall.
Are the one's they sell at the Cliff's able to be closed in the rear tail gate hinge???

I went to a bicycle shop and bought mine, IIRC less than $5. The tree limbs at Cliffs will pull the flag from the fiberglass pole so they only last a trip or two.

I don't think there is any height requirement, just that you have a flag.

There is no height requirement on their website but I remember hearing it must be taller than your roof line. The bolt on the flag I purchased at the Cliffs is a 1/2 inch. I just jammed it into a standard 3/8 pipe fitting airline quick disconnect (female end) then mounted the male counterpart in the bumper. Click – flag is up, click the flag is down…..

I like that idea – might have to look into it.

i believe they are 1/2 inch holes and the rumor for height is that it has to be 2 feet above the cab of the vehicle but its not really enforced and like doug said its just more important that you have one
|
no you dont get it… its a jeep, its never fixed, just less broken

Here, I am going to help you out with this. Flags are 1/2 inch. Flags must be 1-2 feet over the roof of your truck. You must have one at all times! And yes we do enforce having a flag.
