I'm running a simple Cobra that I bought from Wal-Mart. Cost for the radio was about $35. Has worked well for me so far.

Yeah, walmart would be your best bet to find a cb radio. Any truck stop would have some antennas for the cb. Since you have a Comanche, you should do the dual stick set up. Radio Shack sells the pack for like $50 bucks.

make sure the antena wire is 72 ohm for dual antena and they should be 5' apart or more also you are going to get more range forward and reverse then on the sides with dual antena

Sounds like the exact same set up I had on my big old Dodge Ram. Did you find a spot where you are going to mount them? I mounted mine on the bed near the cab, it was a tight fit but looked the best.

sorry I was off a bit you need 75 ohm cable, This is what I run
Thats the same one I run in my YJ with a single RG8X 50 ohm cable with a 4 foot firestick
My Ranger had a Cobra 29 WX NW ST with dual RG9X 75 ohm cable to 2 4 foot firesticks
The main thing in setting up a dual antena is quality components I use Cobra radios and only firestick cable and antena's. Also Jake your going to need a SWR meter I got lucky firestick does there best to tune there sticks the best they can and when I went to tune my sticks they were close enough that I didn't have to adjust mine and they can be a bit difficult to adjust.
Also check and make sure the SWR meter can do the cable you use too
If you have any questions let me know I am no real guru on CB's but I do know how to set them up properly

Man I love CB's always had one in my car or truck, and playing CB hide and seek was awesome though not practical now with the costs of gas but I would still do it.

The best time I had was when we were on a friends farm playing and we used fallen trees and debris to cover our vehilce kind of like a ghillie suit but only for a vehicle

think of squelch as adjusting the listening range of your cb turn it down and youll hear as far as it can, up and youll only hear the closer signals hope that makes sense
