Thanks beez.
Tony another cheap solution for mild axle wrap is to install a "1/2 leaf" or "torque leaf". On your suspension you would install one more 1/2 length leaf on top of your main leaf under the spring plate forward and reverse wrap it around the eye. Only the front 1/2 of the spring pack is what tries to resist axle wrap so this extra leaf will stiffen the forward 1/2 of the spring pack, while leaving the rear 1/2 of the pack softer and flexible and it doesn't have hardly any effect on ride quality or flex. The stiffer the torque leaf the better it will control axle wrap. Make sure you put the torque leaf under the whole spring plate and run the center bolt and leaf pack strap around it too.

If those torque leafs don't work, just leave them there and go onto another solution. There is no need to remove them if they don't provide enough axle wrap control.

Yeah, I just have to have those made. Which probably isn't a big deal because I live by a pretty good leaf spring shop. They do everything from semi springs to monster truck springs to trailer springs. Pretty much anything leaf spring, and they are reasonably priced. I'll swing in there tomorrow and see what they say.

Make sure they understand what you are trying to do, they might advise on how thick of a leaf to use.

To have a torque wrap added to my rear leaf packs it was going to cost me about 250 bucks!!!! So I decided to try it myself; I added a new number 3 leaf of thicker steel, I then rearranged the original number 3 and 4 leafs towards the front of the pack, and then trimmed some of the material off the leafs towards the rear. I think this will stiffen the front half of the spring where I'm getting all the distortion, but by trimming the rear of the leafs, I'll still maintain some of my ride characteristics. I then clamped the 1-4 leafs in the front to help keep those from separating. Hopefully, my ride height is still close to the same.

Holy cow $250!, good call on trying it yourself. Looking at your pics I would trim that new leaf to the same length as the one below it. I think with it that long it will stiffen the spring pack, if you trim it it will retain your original spring rate and arch when loaded. When you trim the new leaf make the new cut end like a tapered leaf. This will aid in the leaf gliding on the one above it. I agree with how you clamped the new leaf in the front of the pack, good job.
