There is an issue on 05-06 4.0 engines where the gear that drives the oil pump and cam timing gear sensor is wearing. In extreme cases the oil pump stops being driven. In lesser cases the timing gets thrown way off. I checked mine last night and with 48k miles it is wearing. I'm still under warrantly so I will have it looked at by a dealer. But I'm a very slow mechanic.

Yeah I recall reading something referenced to this isuue over on
Rubicon Owner's Forum too. I don't however recall the model years

The period at the end of link was the problem. It works now. My build date is Oct 2004, about 2 weeks before the official start of the TSB. From what I've read it affects many more vehicles than the TSB covers.
