1982 Jeep Scrambler “Sagebrush Edition”. This truck is a one of kind CJ-8 with a very
unique history. It was originally owned
by the mayor of Tombstone Arizona who used it to give Jeep Tours of the
Tombstone Mines. It had been bought and
sold twice by Tombstone locals and continued giving mine tours. My father was the fourth owner buying the
tour and Scrambler several years ago and continued the tours. He passed in 2005 and the Jeep was given to
me. I t was shipped to Chicago where it
has been restored to its current condition.
2006 -2008- The original 2.5GM engine was replaced with a Jasper 2.5GM,
Weber Carb and complete new fuel system.
The lifted suspension, aluminum wheels, and Goodyear MTR were
installed. The brake system, stainless
steel brake lines, and clutch are new.
It has a custom roll cage with new seat belts. It has new paint, undercoating, and complete
interior rhino liner. Most of the work
was done by Attitude Performance in Arlington Heights.
The Jeep has ZERO rust and has never seen snow. Since the restoration, it has never been off
-road (it’s too nice). Currently, its primary
duty is to represent our Church in the 4th of July Parade (made the
front page of the paper 1st year). It is
very unique vehicle, and a real head turner. It runs and drives great and is
very capable for new adventures.
