Check out T.W. Metals in Carol Stream. Â Several years ago I heard they had some of the best prices around.

Try Alro for full length tubes or for smaller stuff try Metal Supermarket. I'm not sure on locations though they are only sources that I've used in the past.

Crown Steel

Use google for steel service centers and call around, prices vary. The more you buy the cheaper it is, cuts cost money.
If you do any flat work several of those places have plasma, laser or flame tables.

They are nice guys but you obviously did not call around; they are more expensive every time I buy unless I need a ridiculously small amount.

I know this is a old post but thanks for the info. I only have one or two places near me anymore and to make a special trip to Chi or the south side would be cost prohibitive. The western burb vendors I can work into my schedule when I come in for a M&G.
BTW anybody know of a Pro tools HB302 1.5" round tube die set for sale?

Home Depot has round tube which is great for make'n bumpers, Built my new stinger outta it. it comes in 12' length they will cut it once for free, I used a chop saw to cut it, a band saw also works very good
Â
Jay R's welding in vernon hills also sells steel stock square tube or plate. good prices too
