Like the title said, what are you guys doing to your trucks prior to the badlands? My plans are to drop my tcase and tranny, replace the clutch. Im going to be rebuilding my crawl box, and building a new transfer case, installing a CB, and if i have time making a new center console. Oh and trying to get my winch to work. Hopefully i can get it all done and make it!

^^^^Holy Crap!! Why don't you just build a new truck while your at it????? :)
I'm going to put a lighter spring in my carb for the secondaries, and maybe up the nozzle a size. Then grease everything, and an oil change and she should be good.

Let's see … I have a bunch of stuff to do on the truck to get it trail worthy:
- Finish fixing the aux fuel tank and function test (I friggin hope it works … I don't want to drop the tank AGAIN)
- Install CB antennas/radio
- Put interior back together (firewall, dash trim, radio, wire harnass, HVAC)
- Install new radio and stereo wiring (gotta have tunes for the 4+ hour drive)
- Install new wagon door seals (leaky)
- Replace front R/L ball joints
- Buy $1500 of trail sparts of EVERYTING (Front R/L halfshafts, Rear halfshaft, 1x upper/lower ball joints, tie rod, CTIS limp home kit, idler/pitman arms) – the idea is that parts for this thing are REALLY hard to come buy and I don't want to have to get this thing towed back to Grayslake, IL (up by the cheddar curtain)
- Fill it full of 52 gallons of gas + 10 gallons in spare tanks

Adding coil spacers and new tires. I bought Falken Wildpeak A/T's (for daily driver use) and we're going to see if these tires are as awesome as many of the Jeep magazine's have claimed.
Other than that, just the usual pre-trip checklist.

Install new axle seals in front D44, install billet aluminum axle tube seals, replace front U-joints (if needed), and replace oil in both axles and t-case with the purple stuff.

I won't be able to make it to the Badlands due to the fact that I'll be driving the JK to Denver that following Monday. Didn't feel it was a smart idea to wheel her then take her on a 1000 mile trip the day after. Wheeling in the Rockies = WIN!
I hope to have an aux trans cooler installed and possibly a new front bumper with winch.

hahahaha!! Actually i think the clutch is going to wait until the end of summer, it still works, and i dont want to change too many variables right before an offroad trip. The crawler, tcase and cb are a must though!!!

Got the lefty tcase im building halfway done, hit an impass in the build. I chiped the tooth off one of the gears that i need to install in my reduction box, because i had a brain fart and used a hammer to smash it off a shaft that i need to get to a bearing that was under it. Hopefully i have one at my parents house, or ill have to get one overnighted here. Gonna mock up the tcase and crawler combo tonight, and measure it up to see how much i have to mod the driveshafts. Dropping the driveshafts off at the shop to get modded tomorrow. All i need to do is finish building my tcase (hopefully tomorrow night) build the crawl box, swap into truck, mod the shifters, make a new floor, lock the front axle disco into 4wd and i should be good to go for at least one day at the badlands!!!

Did everything I needed / wanted to do this morning for the trip. With one exception – Those Wildpeaks look weak on my Rubi. If I had a stock Sport or X model, they probably wouldn't look so lame. I'm sending them back. So I'm hoping my MT/R's will give me one more trip before I order the KM2's.

I was going to say something……. I saw a couple of them with those tires and thought the same thing.

Got the crawl box built and the tcase is 95% done, just have to change some seals and bolt it and seal it up. After that its mount the tranny to crawler adapter, and bolt the crawler to the tcase, swap into truck (ideally tonight but i doubt it), pary i measured right on the driveshafts, mount up shifters, see which ones need to be modded, and make a floor, rig up my axle disco so my 4wd will work, install a CB, test drive, hopefully drive it to work friday (55 between bolingbrook and midway is harder on a vehicle than anything at the badlands lol!!). I ideally would like to head down and wheel on saturday, but depending on what i get done i may just be heading down and wheeling on sunday.
