Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that came out to Cliff's today and made our yearly halloween run successful once again. We had a total of 15 rigs out there. I hope everyone had fun. Would like to welcome Nono to the club and hope he had a good time. Cherokee took on more body damage this time then any other trip, which is cool with me. Please remember send your pictures to Tim's email so that he can make a Halloween Run folder for everyone's pictures. Also if you can email him your videos so he can make up a video that would be awesome as well. Again thanks for coming out and joining us and making this a great run. Up next the newbie run.

Here is a pic of the route of trail 1. I used an Android software called Jog Tracker to track the route and upload it to a website.

Thats a pretty cool software Keith.
Yes it was another great time out with the crew. I dont think I'll ever see Cliffs that dry ever. Except in the in the winter. Group 1A-7\B3 had some great entertainment. Thanks to Justin getting stuck 10 minutes into the trip. Then later on we watched Kelsi the Killer fly through a sticky mud pit with her stocker. How was trail #3??
How did group 2 do? Wish I would have stayed longer to chit chat with you guys.

The Cliff's may have been dry but we still managed to find plenty of mud. My jeep was vibrating so bad on the way home I was lucky to hit 55. The wheels were so packed they looked like I was rolling on Play-Dough Fun factory wheels Thanks again for a great time!!

I'm sorry I missed it. I was on my way down and about a mile from my house, then the check engine light on the F-150 came on and the truck started to miss fire. I didn't want to pull my jeep down there and back on 7 cylinders so I called it a day. Sucks too, after six hours of wrenching friday to get the Jeep running.

Well, For showing up with only 2 official hours left in the run. I definatly got my moneys worth at this run.
I wont steal drews thunder with the details, but we had a night/trail build party on the steap hill by the creak between trails 3 and 10 on 1.
Then around 8pm when Drew was ready to roll, We enjoyed a short night run to get out of the trails into the parking lot
as for the jeep. Since it was soo dry, im sure I have some light pin striping, but no new dents or anything of that nature. But i have to pull apart the front diff today to make sure I didnt get any water in it from the water crossings as my breather hose would not stay on the diff. So thats gonna get worked on later today
It was Great Wheelin with Everyone!!

i had an awesome time despite getting stuck in almost every nasty mud pit i found but that is all part of it, and while cleaning today i noticed that i ripped of the tip of my exhaust which also ripped off my frame mount for my exhaust and upon further investigation i found that the main hanger that is attacthed to the transmission was broke so the only thing holding my exhaust on was the two bolts connecting it to the exhaust manifold. i also bent a corner of my front bumper…got to love those trees (caugh caugh… evans)
glad to hear drew and the rest of you guys got out ok and trail three was ok not that exciting im thinking i might want to try trail four next time… from what i saw it looked like it might be fun.

no you dont get it… its a jeep, its never fixed, just less broken

Damien and I had a blast! I'm glad it wasn't totally sloppy at the Cliffs like the last time I was there. Much more enjoyable this time!

I had a great time, and as others have said that's the dryest I've seen The Cliffs.
I do have a few suggestions for future trips (qualifier: I'm not a member, however I've wheeled with a lot of groups over the years).
1) You might want to consider more groups of less jeeps. I've found running with other clubs that if you get many more than 4 vehicles on the trail as the same time, it really slows the progress of the ride.
2) You might want to consider alternating positions within the group every chance you get. Otherwise the scenery doesn't change for people in the rear of the group.
3) As many of you have the same vehicles (Cherokees and TJs), someone could compile a list of hard parts that have broken on trail runs, see how many members have that part on their vehicle and then decide if the club could put together a spare parts bin. I was thinking about axle-shafts, u-joints, unit-bearing (hub). If that isn't possible, even if each person is tasked with stopping at auto-zone before a run and grabbing one part, then returning after the trip if not used?
In any case, it was nice to wheel with you guys and I'm glad you had so many vehicles turn out for a club run.
Keep up the good work!
Dean

Well I had a great time…got a little tied after climbing that hill to help Brett get his rig in line. The snatch block and shackles were heavy…they gave me quite a work out. The recovery was a great experience, never used the block before.
Also, got a bit of body damage. Damn tree ninja came out of no where. Oh well…all part of a day at the cliffs ;)

Thanks to all who stayed to helped and then got to do the night run back to the parking lot. Special thanks to Mitch for doing the parts run to Advanced Auto!
Got it to Morris doing 30 mph and decided to stop for the night. Without the outer shaft with the nut holding the bearing together it would not have made it much further. Put it on a trailer Sunday and took it to Scott at Rock 4x Fabrications to inspect it for me. He did the 4.88 gears for me and I want him to double check those and the locker as well.
Dave at Northridge 4x4 is going to take of the axle under warranty for me.
I was to busy working to get any pics of the carnage, IF you've got some please send me a copy.
Thanks,
Drew

Snapped a three week old chromoly front shaft playing on the tires. It snapped right before the splines in the unit bearing. Thought it was a locker. Kept going and the wheel came off on a hill by the creek, trail 1, 10, 14 all meet there. The brake caliper was the only thing holding the unit bearing and wheel from rolling away.
Here's the only photo I've got
