For those coming from the far west 'burbs (Genoa, Elgin, C'ville, etc) according to Mapquest; your directions are to make your way towards I-355 South > I-80 East > I-57 South……

I wanted anyone who would consider an alternate route taking you Eastbound on I-80 (west of I-355) towards I-57 to know that stretch of I-80 is down to ONE LANE due to road construction in the Joliet area – Avoid this! Taking the suggested route (I-355 S > I-80E > I-57 S) you will be north of the construction zone, making your trip faster.

So I am thinking for those of us leaving on Friday morning we might want to do what we did last year and meet-up somewhere along I-355. Note; last year we met at a Jewel Food Store on 75th street > 1 block (1st stop light) West of I-355. It's easy off / easy back onto I-355 south.

What do you think?

I suppose we could also utilize this thread as a sign-up sheet so we know who will be convoying on Friday Morning.

<====Is up for a convoy depending on a few things..

1, what time we leave. I'm an EARLY riser and I'd like to be at Summers by 10am.

2, my 4 popper is not the fastest on the highway… 65 is about all I get. I don't want to drag anybody down by having them waiting for me.

Sounds good to me too Mitch.

Jeff – Although on a "vacation day" I don't usually sleep much longer than I normally do (up at 4:00 am Mon – Fri) – No way will I be ready to leave early enough to roll into Attica by 10:00 am. I'm thinking (if enough of us meet up at my suggested point) we won't be leaving until 9 or 10 am. TBD; I guess?….

Ahhhh, well I guess I will just see you guys down there. I'm gonna get my spot setup and head out for some wheeling asap. I have VERY few opportunities to get away during the summer season so I want to make as much of it as possible.

Side note: I get up at 2:15am M – F so I feel your pain..
