Trying to get this ironed out before Saturday and need some help.
Problem: Backfire through the carb.
Parts I have replaced so far; new coil, new distributor cap and rotor, and adjusted the timing.
Its an AMC 360 motor with a 3 month old holley truck avenger (with backfire protection)
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tony

How long has it been doing this, just start or for awhile? Using a carb guide that I have sounds like it could be a large intermediate jet.

Maybe a vacuum leak or line off or connected incorrectly, leaking carb gasket?

Did you have two plug wires melt together?

Turned out to be a bad distributor gear. Now I'm going to have to check my cam gear and timing set. I might be able to wheel tomorrow.
