At the Jan M&G, John mentioned to me he installed HIDS on his XJ and I was under the impression one of the members here was a expert in this?  Would that be correct?  Reason I ask – I am thinking of converting and wondering who or what brand(s) were recommended?  FWIW, I want bright white HIDS.

- Thanks.

I believe that they nominated me for that particular task

http://ddoffroad.com/forum/tec…..orum/hids/

that has all the good information but here is the hilights

http://shop.ebay.com/orangemik…..amp;_pgn=1

thats the store that sells the kits that I have run, and are a decent price with a decent warranty

you will need something like these as well because I think they were still using sealed beams in your year… not sure though. if you can just replace the bulbs and not the entire housing, it will be a lot less money, and that like may break the bank, so y might just want to go on ebay and get one of those housings. John and Tim both have ebay housing and they work pretty good

now here is the complicated part, if you go with an after market housing, or your stock housing only uses one bulb, you have to get the upgraded harness and bixeon lights. that will give you the HI and Lo functionality back. other kits from other sellers will use a secondary bulb to do it, but this kit manages it with just the one by changing the pitch of the bulb. this is built into the harness that they send you (mine got ruined when i ended up in a retention pond… so make sure you have it up higher in engine bay so it wont hit water)

sorry if that was confusing

if you have any more questions or would like a hand installing them, just let me know. Ive gotten pretty good at these kits.
